MERSEY WIND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT REGISTERED

We are pleased to announce our recent submission of an environmental assessment (EA) for the Mersey River Wind Farm Project. The full EA document can be found here: https://novascotia.ca/nse/ea/mersey-river-wind-farm/

The objective of the EA is to minimize or avoid adverse environmental effects before they occur and ensure environmental factors are incorporated into decision making processes. The EA will assume that effective monitoring programs will be developed based on results of the assessments and implemented for adaptive management.

As the first project dedicated to supply Roswall’s Renewable to Retail program, Mersey River Wind will help bring customer choice and competition to the electricity market in Nova Scotia. It represents an important step in lowering the costs of heating our homes and running our businesses, accelerating our emissions reductions, and stimulating economic growth in Nova Scotia.

We are committed to continuing our work with Indigenous communities, stakeholders and the public throughout the review, construction, and operation of the project.
